The Daily Mirror leads on a joint study that confirms ultra-processed foods significantly raise your chances of a stroke, heart attack or high blood pressure.
According to the paper, more than half of the food in our diet meets that criteria.
The paper says a review of ultra-processed foods – which are typically high in salt and sugar – has found they increase the risk of cardiovascular disease by 24%, and quotes Leon restaurants founder and former government advisor Henry Dimbleby saying the findings should be a “wake-up call”.
