COVID UK: Infection rates fall in all home nations apart from N Ireland
The latest data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) shows infection rates have fallen in all the home nations apart from Northern Ireland.
ONS data reveals that in the week ending 31 July, approximately one in 75 people in private households in England were estimated to have had Covid.
This compares with one in 65 people the previous week.
In Scotland – the latest figure was one in 120, compared with one in 110 the previous week.
In Wales – one in 230 people compared with one in 160 the previous week.
But in Northern Ireland infection rates have risen, with one in 55 people thought to have had Covid, compared with one in 65 a week earlier.
The ONS Infection Survey tests tens of thousands of people in private households around the country to produce its estimates.
