Coronavirus: UAE reports 2,959 Covid-19 cases, 1,901 recoveries, 14 deaths
The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Saturday reported 2,959 cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus, along with 1,901 recoveries and 14 deaths.
The new cases were detected through 242,159 additional tests.
The total number of cases in UAE as of March 6 is 408,236 while total recoveries stand at 391,205. The death toll rises to 1,310.
The UAE has conducted over 32 million tests to date as part of the country’s massive screening programs to combat the spread of Covid-19. However, the ministry has urged the public to follow all preventive guidelines.
In UAE, the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis, and Disasters Committee announced on Saturday that cinema halls can function at 30 percent capacity while following all precautionary measures including wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and regular sanitizing. Cinema halls had been shut down since February 5, 2021, as a precautionary measure.
Meanwhile, in Dubai authorities have directed coffee shops to stop serving beverages in baby bottles. The Dubai Economy said the practice violates the precautionary measures in place against the spread of Covid-19.
