It started off as a passionate secret affair between Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths) and Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) in Coronation Street – but could they be set for domestic bliss by living together?
Damon returned to the cobbles a few weeks ago and it quickly became clear that he was a man on a mission. Several missions, in fact. One was to get revenge against Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) for being the cause of Damon’s swift exit from Weatherfield previously.
The other was to rekindle his relationship with Sarah, whose marriage to Adam had broken down in the meantime.
Of course Damon is known for being involved in a wide range of criminal activity, but Ciaran Griffiths told us that, for Sarah, he’ll clean up his act.

‘He’s still got that edge to him but he does want to try and prove to Sarah that he can operate on the right side of the law,’ he said.
In upcoming episodes he tries to move the relationship on to a more official footing by hinting to Sarah during a romantic moment that he’d like to move in with her.
Will Sarah be ready for such a step? It’s true she has strong feelings for Damon, but can she trust him given everything she knows about him?

There’s likely to be opposition to him moving in from the rest of the family, particularly brother Nick (Ben Price) who has had several run-ins with Damon in the past and will find the idea of his sister living with Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor)’s brother hard to take.

There would also be opposition from Adam, who not long ago was kidnapped and held at gunpoint at Damon’s behest.
Ciaran acknowledged there would be problems. ‘He might want to settle down on the street, but it’s whether he’ll be allowed to settle down on the street with his brother looming over him and Adam on his back. I don’t think it’s ever going to be plain sailing for Damon.
