Henry has another idea (Picture: ITV)
A few weeks ago, Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) started a job with her ex, Henry Newton (George Banks), in Coronation Street.
Their past connection wasn’t a big deal to start with, but Henry then told Gemma that he’d consider buying the Rovers Return pub if she became his PA in return.
Gemma took this job offer fully aware that Henry knows she’s married to Chesney (Sam Aston) and has the quads and Joseph (William Flanagan) to look after – but that doesn’t appear to bother him in upcoming episodes.
After luring Gemma to a hotel on the premise of a business meeting, Henry confesses and says there’s no meeting, he’s lost his job, but he loves her with all of his heart and wants them to spend the rest of their lives together.
Understandably, Gemma is completely dumbfounded, but what will she say?
Given that Gemma is happily married to Chesney and likes the life she has with her family, this meeting probably won’t end well…
‘I do think it runs deeper with them as well’, George Banks said, reflecting on Henry and Gemma’s connection.

‘I think she makes him feel alive. She makes him feel comfortable being who he is and that’s not something that he’s not felt like anybody else.
‘To have somebody remind you that you can be fun and you can be nice and you can lift them up when they’re down. It’s quite intoxicating for him.’

‘You know I loved playing Henry before, he’s a character who brings a lot of fun and is a lot of fun to play’, George added.
‘And I had such a wonderful time working on the show last time and I miss all the people up there. So I was thrilled at the idea of coming back.’
