Evelyn was horrified to learn that she could be facing prison (Picture: ITV)
Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) received some major news in recent Coronation Street scenes following trouble from vile dog abuser Terry.
Terry was recently arrested after Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) reported him to the police for holding Evelyn hostage.
The dog abuser locked Evelyn in the shop and demanded she give back his dog, after she stole her from him to save her from his abuse.
In tonight’s (January 2) episode, Roy Cropper (David Neilson) revealed to Evelyn that Terry had been charged and would appear at his plea hearing the following day.
At first Evelyn seemed thrilled, though her facade began to slip when Roy mentioned her own dognapping crime.

When Evelyn explained that, even though she was hoping he would plead guilty, she would be prepared to give evidence at Terry’s trial, Roy pointed out that this may open her up to the risk of Terry blabbing about what she had done.
Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) was also concerned about the possibility of Evelyn going to prison, given that she had broken the law, no matter how well intended her actions had been.

Though she assured them both that that wouldn’t happened, it became clear later that the possibility had been playing on her mind, as Roy found her visibly upset.
Having done some extensive research, Evelyn revealed that she could be facing up to seven years in prison if Terry chose to tell all.
As Roy pointed out that it sounded like rather a long time, Evelyn worried about how long she would have left, and whether she’d be spending the rest of her days behind bars.

Roy was quick to assure her this time that she had acted in the dog’s best interests and that it hopefully wouldn’t come to that, though Evelyn didn’t seem so convinced.
Could she be facing a prison spell, or will Terry be out of their lives for good?
