Coronation Street spoilers: Dragon Evelyn fuming to be declared a dragon

Coronation Street’s Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) doesn’t suffer fools gladly, and if that makes her a dragon, then so be it. Just don’t tell her that.

In recent scenes, Brian Packham’s (Peter Gunn) cousin Isabella took it upon herself to awaken the dragon, shall we say, by stirring the pot between Brian and Evelyn, as they tried to enjoy a drink in the Rovers.

Isabella is no stranger to causing trouble, having already managed to get herself barred from the boozer after complaining about Jenny Connor’s (Sally Ann Matthews) measures. And that was after she’d upset Rita (Barbara Knox)…

Having resolved the issue with Jenny, Brian invited Isabella for a drink with his friends, Evelyn, Roy Cropper (David Neilson) and Mary Taylor (Patti Clare).

Things got off to a bad start between Isabella and Evelyn, when Isabella began insulting greyhounds, one of Evelyn’s favourite dog breeds.

Of course, Evelyn held her own, biting back with quick with when Isabella admitted to preferring a bichon frise or chihuahua.

She suggested that Isabella liked the ‘yappy little dogs with no personality’ because they were more familiar to her.

Before things could get out of hand, Brian returned, and Isabella found the perfect opportunity to make a dig, claiming that Evelyn wasn’t at all the ‘dragon’ that Brian had made her out to be.

Offended, Evelyn decided to take leave, much to the dismay of her friends.

Just as Brian had begun to win her back round, Isabella once again put her foot in it, claiming that Evelyn was doing nothing to persuade her against the fact that she was a bit of a dragon.

The shopkeeper left in a huff, closely flanked by Roy, much to Brian’s disappointement.

With Isabella outstaying her welcome and now affecting his relationships with his friends, will Brian give her her marching orders?
