Stephen Reid’s (Todd Boyce) old journal has turned out to be the home of a major secret in Coronation Street.
On Monday (December 11), Audrey (Sue Nicholls) was feeling emotional when she received some of Stephen’s belongings from the police. While David (Jack P Shepherd) showed her support, Audrey disagreed with his plan to get rid of her son’s things.
Audrey argued that there was another side to Stephen away from him being a serial killer (don’t question Audrey, just go with it), and reading through his journal would remind her of that.
In tonight’s (December 13) episode, David was growing increasingly frustrated over Audrey still talking about Stephen.

However, to his surprise, David actually found reading Stephen’s diary quite interesting once he got his hands on it.
While making tea with Shona (Julia Goulding), David pretended to be Stephen and read through some of the entries.
He then came across a page that discussed the time where Sarah (Tina O’Brien) knew Damon (Ciaran Griffiths) was the father of her baby and not Adam (Sam Robertson).

David turned the page and, with help from Shona, then discovered Stephen knew that Gail was initially unsure who Sarah’s real father was!
Sarah’s father was Brian Tilsley (Chris Quinten), but at the time Sarah was conceived Gail and Brian had drifted apart and Gail had a brief relationship with Brian’s cousin Ian Latimer (Michael Loney), who was visiting from Australia.
