Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) and Asha Alahan’s (Tanisha Gorey) relationship remains in a difficult place in Coronation Street.
After Asha began her new job as a trainee paramedic, she started speaking a lot about Isla, her mentor.
While Asha enjoys learning from Isla and spending time with her, it’s made Nina feel jealous and isolated.
Recently, Nina expressed her feelings to Shona (Julia Goulding). She said that despite trying to feel different, she can’t help but worry about the connection Asha and Isla have.

Shona’s attempt at helping Nina saw her change her name to Rob in her contacts. Shona was then sending messages to Nina’s phone pretending to be Rob, thinking it would trouble Asha.
In Friday’s (December 8) episode, Asha continued to make comments to Nina about Rob.
Nina confessed that Shona was behind the messages, which made Asha feel hurt.

Back at home, Nina attempted to apologise to Asha but she wasn’t in the mood. She said that Nina’s ‘possessive’ behaviour reminded her of how she was when Seb died.
Nina’s boyfriend, Seb Franklin, was killed in 2021 after being attacked by a gang.
In the aftermath, Nina’s struggle with her mental health saw her become increasingly worried Asha’s life would end up in danger as well.

One day, to try and protect Asha, Nina ended up locking her in the cafe, stopping her from visiting Glasgow.
Of course, Asha is allowed to feel worried but the sudden reminder of Seb and how she used to be upset Nina. She confessed that if she lost Asha, her social anxiety would increase and she’d more than likely stop going out.

Asha was curious and told Nina that she’s been out loads recently on her own – but Nina admitted that wasn’t entirely true.
The couple are being challenged a lot lately, but can they reconnect again?
