The end is getting closer (Picture: ITV)
Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) faces the prospect of saying goodbye to his mum Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) for the final time in Coronation Street soon after she’s arrested for theft.
This week, Paul, Bernie and Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) will head to another meeting at the hospital with the MND nurse.
There, the nurse will explain that because of the way Paul’s health is declining, he now only has around 6-12 months left to live.
In the aftermath of this news, Bernie will have no choice but to reveal to Paul and Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) that she’s up in court for handling stolen goods after a job with Big Garth went terribly wrong.

Bernie’s landed in huge trouble (Picture: ITV)
On Joel’s (Calum Lill) advice, Bernie pleads guilty and her family are shocked when the Judge states that given her record, they have no other option but to impose a custodial sentence.
A devastated Paul then tells the Judge about his MND and how he needs his Mum around, but will it be enough for a reconsideration?
Or will Paul say goodbye to Bernie sooner than he expected?
