Adam ended up in serious danger (Picture: ITV)
Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths) returned to Coronation Street for revenge on Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) in Monday’s (January 1) episode.
The criminal left Weatherfield earlier this year after having an affair with Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien), but headed back tonight with the intention of putting Adam’s life in serious jeapordy.
After Damon instructed some men to kidnap Adam, it wasn’t long until Sarah realised he was back.
At the flat, Damon asked Sarah about her relationship with Adam coming to an end. He wondered what happened, but Sarah then revealed she miscarried his baby.

A few months ago, after the affair, Sarah discovered she was pregnant. In a storyline that saw her spin a massive web of lies, Sarah allowed Adam to believe he was the father of her baby – not Damon.
After Sarah lost the baby and Adam figured out the truth, he confirmed he wanted a divorce as he could no longer trust his wife.
Back in the present day, Damon was clearly heartbroken to learn about the miscarriage and tried to tell Sarah that he loves her.

Sadly, he was put in his place when Sarah said she wasn’t interested.
The overwhelming emotions led to Damon very nearly murdering Adam, who was having a panic attack while being held hostage at a wasteground.
Adam, who had a bag over his head, wanted a message to be sent to Sarah and young Harry, but remained unaware Damon was standing in front of him with the gun.

Already upset after Sarah’s news, Damon was impacted when Adam mentioned young Harry and his mum.
Feeling guilty and unable to go through with killing his enemy, a frustrated Damon instructed his sidekick to let him go.
Back on the cobbles, after Adam went to the station to report the kidnap, he spotted Damon and immediately knew he was responsible.
Daniel (Rob Mallard) reminded Adam that Damon is a dangerous man but the solicitor wasn’t scared.

‘I’ve got rid of him once, I can do it again’, he said.
As this storyline gets underway, Damon will face another challenge when he faces his killer sibling Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor).
‘There’s an interesting dynamic between them’, Will Mellor said, teasing the relationship between the brothers.
