The Alahans have been a family at war in Coronation Street ever since it was revealed that Aadi (Adam Hussain) was in a relationship with Courtney Vance (Stephanie Davis) – the wife of his dad Dev (Jimmi Harkishin)’s former business associate.
The couple have moved into a flat at the precinct together, but it’s hardly been romantic bliss as Courtney has struggled to adapt to a more basic way of life than she’s been used to.
Meanwhile Aadi’s rift with his family deepened further after Dev, Asha and Chesney found the door to the kebab shop smashed open and Dev recognised a snow globe he found on the floor as belonging to Aadi. Asha (Tanisha Gorey) warned her brother that Dev knew it was him who’d vandalised the kebab shop.
When the police arrived to question Aadi, he thought his dad had reported him. Asha told him it had been Chesney (Sam Aston) rather than Dev.
Unimpressed that Dev had done his best to keep him out of trouble, Aadi told Asha that he thought Dev was an idiot because he’d offered Courtney £5,000 to leave him.
All of this is taking its toll on poor Aadi, though, as upcoming episodes reveal that he’s struggling to keep Courtney happy.

He apologises to Asha for their argument, and she invites her brother to Speed Daal. There, he opens up to her about everyday life at the precinct flat with Courtney. Unsurprisingly, Courtney – who’s been used to living in the lap of luxury – is having trouble adjusting to the poky flat.
Aadi wants to make things better for her, so Asha comes up with a plan. She says she’ll help him redecorate the flat.
Will a lick of paint be enough to make Courtney feel at home? Earlier on in this story Stephanie Davis told us, ‘If she leaves Darren and goes with Aadi, she’ll be skint and have no money, but she’ll have love.’
She’s left Darren, she is skint – will love be enough?
He can’t stay on Cloud 9 forever.
