Gail Platt (Helen Worth) seeks help from Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) of all people in upcoming Coronation Street episodes as she becomes determined to get her family back together before Christmas.
The aftermath of Stephen’s death has seen a lot of Weatherfield residents struggle.
For Stephen’s mum Audrey (Sue Nicholls), focus has been on her coming to terms with the reality of her son, who murdered three people, stole most of her savings and drugged Carla Connor (Alison King).
Most recently, Audrey was emotional when the police returned some of Stephen’s belongings.

David (Jack P Shepherd) supported Audrey but pointed out she might feel better if she got rid of Stephen’s things completely, but Audrey argued that her son had another side to him away from being a cold-blooded murderer, and reading through his journal would help her be reminded of that.
It’s the journal at the front of Gail’s mind in this new video, as she’s seen reading through it to get an insight into Stephen’s frame of mind and the thoughts he had about his relatives.

At the Platt household, Gail tells David, Shona (Julia Goulding), Max (Paddy Bever) and Lily (Brooke Malonie) that they’re going to the Bistro to be open and honest with their feelings, and sort any problems out.
Gail is hopeful her idea will work but Max, David and Shona aren’t convinced.

Lily, who is sat scrolling on her phone, then chimes in and says the family could use a ‘nice box’ instead, which is what they use at school.
Lily says each member of the family could write a kind sentence or two about someone else and put it in the nice box, and then when they’re read out, no-one will feel silly or embarassed when their thoughts are exposed.

David attempts to tell Lily the idea probably won’t work, but he then turns round to see Gail heading out the door, preparing to find a box from the recycling bin.
What could possibly go wrong?
Oh and just to be clear – the ongoing bickering between Gail and Eileen (Sue Cleaver) is a feud.
Not a grudge.
