Justin returned as a figment of Ryan’s imagination (Picture: ITV)
Two former Coronation Street characters made a return in Tuesday’s (October 17) episode of the ITV soap.
The one viewers will recognise the most is Justin Rutherford (Andrew Still). He was last seen in June of this year after attacking Ryan (Ryan Prescott) with acid and spending months stalking Daisy (Charlotte Jordan).
Justin is currently behind bars, but returned as a figment of Ryan’s imagination in tonight’s episode.
We know that Ryan has been struggling a lot in the aftermath of the attack and these scenes proved just how much the moment where Justin threw the acid still haunts him today. While at the precinct, Gav (Noah Olaoye) and Max (Paddy Bever) were messing around with fizzing drinks and when the liquid from Gav’s bottle travelled in Ryan’s direction, it hit him in the face and reminded him of those terrifying minutes where his life changed forever.

As Ryan turned, we then saw Justin stood in Gav’s place. Ryan’s anger grew and he pushed Justin to the floor but when Daisy and Max intervened, Ryan realised he had attacked Gav instead.
Elsewhere, after being arrested for the murder of Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce), Peter (Chris Gascoyne) faced being questioned by DS Swain (Vicky Myers) and therefore needed a solicitor present.

After Adam (Sam Robertson) said that the solicitor helping Peter has a good reputation, we were re-introduced to Kim (Rebecca Hesketh-Smith).
Last year, following the crash that killed Imran (Charlie De Melo), Toyah (Georgia Taylor) was also faced with the prospect of time behind bars – given that she was behind the wheel when the car crashed happened.

At the time, Kim arrived and told Toyah that she could claim diminished responsibility aka – she should tell the courts she was not of sound mind when she got in the car.
Toyah thought the idea was terrible and took her anger out on the solicitor by mentioning her tattoo.
Essentially, Toyah told the solicitor that tattoos do not make her look professional and argued it didn’t inspire any confidence.

The solicitor – quite rightly – reminded Toyah that her tattoo really isn’t her problem and needed to focus on the fact she had been arrested for murder.
While Kim was on hand to support Peter during the questioning tonight, she then updated Carla (Alison King) and Adam and said that while Peter had been released under investigation, what he said in the interview certainly didn’t give her hope he’d be walking away scot free.
