COP26 must not fail with humanity to blame for ‘out of control’ climate change
The Daily Mirror says with a record 54.4C in America’s Death Valley, -25C temperatures in Spain and raging fires in Greece, it’s been a year of climate disasters.
Devastating heatwaves, Biblical rainfall, wildfires and other extreme climate events are now being felt around the world with increasing the frequency and ferocity.
In summer hundreds of sudden deaths in Canada were linked to a heatwave. And floods claimed more than 200 lives in Europe and 300 in China.
Climate change is now dangerously close to being out of control, with human activity “unequivocally” to blame, the world’s leading climate scientists have collectively warned.
