COP26 LIVE: Sturgeon tries to upstage Boris as she pulls rug from under PM with £1m pledge

The Daily Express says NICOLA STURGEON has pledged a new £1million fund to help developing countries manage climate change in a bid to upstage the Prime Minister on home turf.

The landmark fund will be announced at the COP26 climate summit on Monday and will focus on supporting developing countries to recover from disasters including floods and wildfires. Ms Sturgeon’s power-move comes as Boris Johnson attempts to rally world leaders to take radical environmental action at the urgent summit- which is taking place on home turf, Glasgow. The money will come from the Scottish Government’s £6million-a-year Climate Justice Fund, helping communities repair from and build resilience against climate-related events.
