Christian Eriksen Premier League comeback with Brentford
Christian Eriksen will be returning to the Premier League after signing a contract with Brentford.
The return of Eriksen has come as a surprise following his collapse at a Euro 2020 match after he suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch.
The club announced Eriksen has signed with them until the end of the season.
Brentford said Eriksen completed the details of his transfer from Amsterdam and will join up with the club in the coming days.
“I can’t wait to get started and hopefully I’ll seen you all very soon,” Eriksen said on the football club’s website.
Brentford boss Thomas Frank said: “We have taken an unbelievable opportunity to bring a world-class player to Brentford.
“He hasn’t trained with a team for seven months but has done a lot of work on his own.
“He is fit but we will need to get him match fit and I am looking forward to seeing him work with the players and staff to get back towards his highest level.
“At his best, Christian has the ability to dictate games of football. He can find the right passes and is a goal threat.”
He left Inter Milan last month after being unable to play in Serie A due to a rule stopping anyone playing who has an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) device.
Eriksen had signed for the Italian club after leaving the Premier League team Tottenham in 2020. He had played for Spurs for more than six years.

He has passed England’s medical tests and will be the first professional player in England to play with an ICD fitted.
He had previously said that his heart condition is “not an obstacle” to playing, adding that athletes in England are left to work out their own risks.
