Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has posted a positive update on his recovery from injury.
The Dane has been out of action for close to two months after sustaining an ankle injury from a nasty challenge by Andy Carroll in an FA Cup win against Reading.
United were forced into signing Marcel Sabitzer on loan on deadline day to negate Eriksen’s absence and the Austrian has impressed during a hectic period for the Reds.
But Erik ten Hag has sorely missed Eriksen’s creativity from deeper areas and he’s pushed Bruno Fernandes into central midfield in recent weeks to boost the team’s playmaking.
Eriksen was originally ruled out until late April or early May, with the former Inter Milan ace desperate to return before the end of the season.
But his progress has been quicker than expected and Eriksen posted a photo of himself wearing boots today, suggesting that he has resumed training on grass.

Eriksen posted three images from various stages of his recovery to document his progress.
The first was in late January, when he was forced to wear a protective boot on his left foot following ankle ligament damage.
The middle photo in early March when the protective boot came off and Eriksen was able to step-up his progress in the gym.

The last photo – presumably from today – showed Eriksen wearing boots as he was able to train on grass for the first time.
United expect to have Eriksen back in early to mid-April, which is a significant boost given Casemiro is serving a four-match ban.
