Chris Hemsworth has been married to his Spanish wife, Elsa Pataky, for 13 years – but that doesn’t mean he’s picked up the language.
Not even a little, you might ask. Well, apparently not – if the scribbles that were spotted on the palm of Chris’ hand are anything to go by.
The 39-year-old Thor actor made an appearance on the red carpet this week in Madrid for the premiere of his film Extraction 2.
Except, when the star raised his hand to wave to onlookers, he forgot about the Spanish phrase he’d jotted down, now exposed for the world to see.
The sweet words read, ‘Estoy muy feliz de estar en España,’ which translates to: ‘I’m very happy to be in Spain.’
Nice work Chris, who shared the picture of the mugshot his Instagram, but it would be much more impressive to see the phrase uttered without assistance.

But luckily, the Avengers actor doesn’t take himself too seriously, as he took to Instagram after he was busted to share his amusement with fans.
Alongside a crystal clear photo of the hilarious moment Chris exposed the scrawl, he wrote: ‘After years of coming to Spain and being asked “has my Spanish improved” I can safely say it’s in the palm of my hand.

The Extraction sequel is set to be released on Netflix on June 16, and the trailer has fans chomping at the bit for what looks like an intense return.
There’s even a wild 21-minute ‘one shot’ action scene that Chris teased last month.
This comes after recent reports announced the Thor star is set to take a step back from Hollywood after learning he was at ‘high risk’ of Alzheimer’s disease.
Elsa and Chris share three children together; daughter India, 10, and twin sons Tristan and Sasha, nine.
