The Guardian – Revealed: children of lone parents hit by era of Tory austerity  

The Guardian says that half of all children in lone-parent families are now living in relative poverty. The paper carries a report which says that half of the 3.1 million children in single-parent families are now living in relative poverty, citing research from the Institute for Fiscal Studies. 

The research shows how a decade of austerity-driven cuts to benefits has hit single parents especially hard, the paper adds.
