Cheryl ‘devastated’ fans by pulling out of her West End performance of 2:22 A Ghost Story on Sunday for a ‘pre-agreed’ day off.
Not all ticket holders were happy to discover that a note had been uploaded onto 2:22’s website confirming the former Girls Aloud star, 39, would not be performing.
Earlier this month, the mum-of-one reportedly upped her security detail after an incident with a stalker during her stint on the West End.
The message, shared this week, read: ‘Please note that Cheryl will not be performing on Sunday 19th March.’
While attendees weren’t able to watch Cheryl flex her acting chops, actress Gemma Yates did a stellar job in her place, but reporting on popstar Cheryl’s absence, MailOnline said fans were ‘devastated’.
A few people took to social media to discuss the announcement, with one person writing: ‘So you’re telling me I’m on my way to London to see 2:22 and Cheryl is apparently having a day off.’

Another social media user added: ‘So went to see @222aghoststory today and found out @cherylofficial was off! But fair play to Gemma Yates-Round you did amazing! All cast were outstanding.’
Someone else suggested Cheryl’s absence was because she wanted to spend time with her son Bear on Mother’s Day.
‘I specifically avoided this week as it’s Mother’s Day and Bear’s birthday, didn’t want to risk it!’ they said.

Elsewhere, Cheryl’s acclaimed stint at London’s Lyric Theatre was said to be tainted by ‘disgusting’ messages that were left for her at the venue.
‘There’s at least one nutter who has been sending some pretty disgusting and disturbing messages,’ a source told The Sun earlier this month.
They continued: ‘She hasn’t been shown them but they’re included with the flowers people leave after performances.
‘Cheryl has enough to think about on stage to a packed theatre each night without having to think about that too, but steps have been taken to ramp up security and put her mind at rest.’

Following the scary notes, reports emerged that the star has a team of security professionals monitoring her movements and escorting her around.
She is also said to have a car that waits for her outside the stage door to take her back to her Buckinghamshire home once she is finished for the night.
