Chelsea loan star brutally told he ‘is as handsome as he is useless’
Joao Felix is struggling to make an impact at AC Milan
Joao Felix’s loan move to AC Milan from Chelsea is not going to plan, with the forward told ‘he is as handsome as he is useless’ after his side’s latest defeat.
The Portugal international sought a move away from Stamford Bridge in January – just six months after Chelsea re-signed him for £46million – because of a lack of minutes.
Though a regular in the Conference League and cup competitions, Felix made just three starts in the Premier League under Enzo Maresca, before securing a loan to the San Siro.
He got off to a dream start, scoring on his debut in the Italian Cup, but has failed to register a goal contribution in his subsequent five appearances.
In that time, Milan were knocked out of the Champions League by Feyenoord, while Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Torino has seen the Rossoneri drop to seventh in Serie A.
Following that loss, Italian football journalist Fabio Ravezzani issued a scathing criticism of the entire Milan team and manager Sergio Conceicao, who was only appointed in December.
‘Everything is going wrong at Milan,’ Ravezzani posted on Twitter, with his subsequent assessment of Felix especially raising eyebrows.

‘Joao Felix is as handsome as he is useless, [Malick] Thiaw is no better than Fikayo Tomori and taking off [Rafael] Leao, unless he is injured, is foolish.
‘Conceicao is causing more damage than hail. The directors failed in choosing the second coach.’
Felix has endured a tough career so far, having been under constant pressure and scrutiny since leaving Benfica for Atletico Madrid in 2019 for £113m – making him the fourth most expensive footballer of all-time.
Sergio Conceicao has had a tough time since becoming AC Milan manager
He won La Liga in 2021 but was hardly explosive in front of goal and later fell out with manager Diego Simeone.
Solid but unspectacular loan spells at Chelsea and Barcelona followed before the 25-year-old made a surprise return to west London last summer, but there’s still time to revive his career in Italy.
Milan supporters booed the players off after the defeat at Torino, with Conceicao saying post-match: ‘I am sorry for the fans who were present for these last few games. They are absolutely right to do so.
‘It is on us that we come here and do not win, so naturally there are higher expectations. We are not satisfied when there is criticism of the directors, players, or staff. We are Milan and we take the criticism all together.’
Felix will get a chance to redeem himself when Milan travel to Bologna on Thursday.
