Champions League: Richarlison scores twice as Spurs win
Tottenham’s Champion League victory over Olympique de Marseille saw new signing Richarlison score his first goals for the club.
Richarlison, signed for a reported £60m from Everton, had a dream Champions League debut with two goals in five minutes late into the game to secure three points for Tottenham.
Richarlison’s goals came after the 79th minute following a fairly lacklustre performance from Spurs. Marseille were lively and dominated most of the game until Chancel Mbemba was sent off just three minutes into the second half for a foul on Son Heung-min.
Tottenham did not have a single shot on target in the first half but Richarlison might just be the quality the team need to pull them through in games like this. Tottenham have missed out on the Champions League for the past two seasons.
Spurs share the top spot in the group with Sporting Lisbon.
Violence broke out between Marseille fans as they clashed with police and stewards following the match.
