Residents in Aviemore – a town of 3,000 people in the Cairngorms – have enjoyed a dusting of the white stuff.

Much of America is bracing for another vicious attack from the elements with a churning storm poised to strike from the Pacific, bringing with it violent ‘devil winds’.

Previous storms include Ciarán, Babet and Agnes.

The Met Office has issued a yellow wind warning with road, rail, air and ferry services in affected areas all facing delays.

A danger to life weather warning has already been issued.

Hopes of snow are being blown away (literally).
