The Justice Department has charged 11 individuals in connection with a marriage fraud scheme involving over 1,000 sham marriages between Chinese nationals and U.S. citizens. The indictment, filed in New York, alleges the scheme was active from 2016 to 2026, facilitating green card applications through fraudulent means.
