GOP Senator Ashley Moody and Democratic Representative Angie Nixon will compete in the November Senate election after winning their respective primaries. Moody, appointed to the Senate last year, aims to retain her seat, while Nixon, endorsed by Alex Vindman, seeks to capitalise on Florida’s evolving political landscape.
The Trump administration is accused of pressuring civil rights attorneys to investigate alleged antisemitism at Harvard, Columbia, and Brown, despite the absence of factual basis, according to former Justice Department lawyer Haley Van Erem’s whistleblower complaint. Three states are holding primaries on Tuesday. In Florida, voters will select nominees for governor and Senate, with frontrunner Byron Donalds leading the Republican race. In Alaska, incumbent Senator Dan Sullivan faces competition in a nonpartisan primary, while former Representative Mary Peltola seeks a challenge.
