An execution date for former Army Maj. Nidal Hasan, who killed 13 people in a 2009 shooting at Fort Hood, has been scheduled for 3 December 2026. Hasan, approved to die by firing squad, will face the same post where the attack occurred, marking the first military execution since 1961.
Attorneys for David Hearn have requested investigations by the Justice and Interior departments into his arrest and subsequent indictment, which was dismissed after it was revealed that damage to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool resulted from contractor error, not vandalism.
Governor Gavin Newsom condemned President Trump’s comments suggesting that Iran could “take out” Los Angeles and San Diego if it developed a nuclear weapon.
