Virgin Atlantic flight VS135 from London to Orlando returned to Heathrow due to a minor technical issue after circling off the coast of Ireland for hours.
A significant fire in Walthamstow, east London, led to the evacuation of hundreds of residents as flames engulfed a house and railway embankment. The blaze, tackled by 125 firefighters using twenty fire engines, caused smoke to spread across the capital. No injuries were reported, but travel disruption continues on the Weaver line for repairs.
A Labrador named Tokyo required rescue from Ben Nevis after reportedly consuming cannabis while hiking with her owner.
