President Joe Biden has unveiled plans for the US military to construct a port in Gaza to get more humanitarian aid to the region by sea.

Three crew members lost their lives in a Houthi missile strike on a cargo ship near southern Yemen, according to US officials. This marks the first fatalities caused by the group’s attacks on merchant vessels. 

The UN agency says the convoy of 14 lorries was turned away at a checkpoint and was later looted by crowds of “desperate people.” The report comes just a day after the WHO said children are dying of starvation in northern Gaza.

“The mission team found that there are reasonable grounds to believe that conflict-related sexual violence occurred in multiple locations during the 7 October attacks,” the UN report said.

The Workers Party of Britain candidate’s campaign heavily focuses on Gaza. He has overturned a Labour majority with 12,335 votes.
