Internet users in Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Uganda have been expressing dissatisfaction with their connectivity, as service providers across East Africa acknowledge ongoing issues. They have said they are working to fix it.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has said there have been at least 44 cholera cases in Kenya’s Tana River county, as flooding raises the risk of the spread of water-borne diseases.

“Our thoughts are with the families and all those affected who continue to wait for word of their loved ones,” said George Mayor Ald Van Wyk.

The Kenyan government warned that the water bodies “have filled up or are nearly filled up and may spill over any time, posing a high risk to persons living in their neighbourhood.”  

Police officers, soldiers, and other government workers will see their pay go up, and it will be retroactive to January.
