Cat Deeley stepped in as This Morning host this week and she’s already given us all the feels with some SMTV: Live nostalgia.
The beloved TV star was fronting Monday’s episode alongside Rylan Clark and the duo brought back Wonkey Donkey as an extra bonus during Spin To Win, and it was every bit was chaotic as we remembered.
After caller Peter managed to get through Spin To Win with an £800 prize, he had one more game to play before he secured the coveted bag of shizzle.
‘Today, in honour of my co-host Cat Deeley, I thought there’s only one way to win the shizzle,’ Rylan told viewers. ‘For the first time in 20 years… let’s play Wonkey Donkey!’
It was everything we wanted and more, complete with the old school theme, logo, camera angles and more.
‘SMTV Live made this game a family favourite on Saturday mornings across the nation. Today, it is back! So Peter, listen very carefully. Stay on the line. Cat, remind everyone of the rules,’ he added.

‘Now, this wasn’t actually my bit, but I’m gonna go with it,’ she teased, in a nice nod to her former co-hosts Ant and Dec.
‘It’s very simple. We’re gonna show you a stuffed animal – for example, right here I have a donkey, he’s missing a leg, so what is he? He’s a Wonkey Donkey! Darn right he is!’
Of course, the most important rule is still ‘it’s got to rhyme’, but poor Peter seemed to struggle as Cat brought out a cuddly toy monkey with shades, a fur coat and sparkly guitar.

At first, the baffled caller just repeated the words ‘Wonkey Donkey’, and even Cat’s clue that ‘he likes some phat beats’ only got Peter as far as ‘guitar monkey’, until an exasperated Rylan reminded him it had to rhyme.
Eventually they had to tell him to say Funky Monkey, which got him the prize – and viewers are hoping the game is here to stay for the rest of the week.
One fan backed Cat and Rylan to become the new This Morning duo, writing: ‘Love to see Wonkey Donkey back! Please keep it, it’s hilarious! Also please keep these 2, they are great together! #thismorning @catdeeley @Rylan’
‘Ofc they played wonky donkey on TM😅,’ laughed another viewer, while a third person added: ‘@Rylan obsessed with wonkey donkey!! 🙌🏼😂 so happy it’s back again tomorrow 🤩🙌🏼 xxx’
‘Cat Deeley is brilliant and I’m glad to see Wonkey Donkey #thismorning,’ someone else pointed out, as yet another fan tweeted: ‘I love the fact that #ThisMorning have brought back Wonkey Donkey!! 😂😂 #SMTVLive’
One heathen claimed the segment was ‘awful’ and wanted people to ditch it’, but thankfully others have much more sense.
‘I love the fact that #ThisMorning have brought back Wonkey Donkey!! 😂😂 #SMTVLive,’ a fan wrote, with another suggested: ‘Should replace spin to win to wonkey donkey #thismorning’
