Bruised Boris Johnson rallies Cabinet TODAY to get on with ‘what matters’ after just surviving confidence vote
The Sun says BORIS Johnson today attempts to shrug off last night’s bruising confidence vote by vowing to crack on with the day job.
Reeling from a dangerous revolt of 148 Tory MPs, the wounded PM will this morning rally Cabinet to remain focused on “what matters”.
Dusting himself down after the slim victory, he took his dog Dilyn for an early park run before promising to fix the NHS and curb crime.
He said: “Today, I pledge to continue delivering on these priorities. We are on the side of hard-working British people, and we are going to get on with the job.”
But it came hours after two in five Conservatives voted to chuck him out of office in a stinging confidence vote following Partygate.
