Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have postponed three shows due to illness.

The I’m On Fire hitmaker is currently hitting up cities in the US and is due to take his world tour to the UK, Spain and Germany later this year.

However, the legendary singer, 73, and his entourage have had to postpone some shows due to illness.

The first show not to go ahead as planned was at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio on March 9.

Just yesterday the legend was due in Connecticut, but it was not to be.

Now, the musician has cancelled tomorrow’s New York gig too.

News of the postponements broke in a message to fans on Bruce’s official Twitter page, which wrote: ‘Due to illness, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s concert at Mohegan Sun Arena on Sunday March 12 has been postponed.

‘We are working on rescheduling the date so please hold on to your tickets as they will be valid for the rescheduled show.’

But no fear, E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt insisted there’s no need to worry, and the illness isn’t anything too serious.

‘No need to be anxious or afraid. Nothing serious. Just a temporary situation. We will all be back in full force very soon,’ he Tweeted.

Although no new dates have yet been released, when asked by a fan about the scrapped gigs, Steven said they’re not cancelled, but postponed.

    ‘We don’t cancel,’ he said.

The next gig in the diary is on March 16 in Philadelphia, and after that the tourers have 15 more US dates to get through before heading to Europe over the summer months.

This comes after it was reported that Bruce has no plans to retire, despite selling his back catalogue of music for a reported $500million.

He is not alone, as Justin Bieber recently sold his entire music catalogue in a bid to ‘de-risk’ his future.

Bruce will be performing in Edinburgh on May 30, Birmingham on June 16, and at BST Hyde Park in London on July 6 and 8.
