Andy Samberg and Melissa Fumero sent Brooklyn Nine-Nine viewers into a spin as they walked the picket line of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike.

The pair starred as Jake Peralta and Amy Santiago in the beloved sitcom – which followed a team of detectives at the fictional 99th precinct in Brooklyn.

It ran for eight seasons before ending in 2021, with Terry Crews, Stephanie Beatriz, Chelsea Peretti and Andre Braugher also in the cast.

Taking to Instagram, Melissa shared a sweet snap as she posed beside Andy and former B99 producer Neil Campbell – who now works alongside the pair on animated series Digman – as they supported the ongoing WGA walkout.

Alongside the upload, she wrote: ‘Digman finale airs tonight! #WGAstrong.’

Followers couldn’t get enough of the upload and flooded the comments section below with excitement for the rare photo.

‘Mom and dad together again,’ one replied.

‘OMG!! This is my favorite thing in the world. Love you guys so much,’ another agreed.

‘Awwww yayyy Andy! You guys all look so great,’ an Instagram user said.

‘So much love to all the guilds and especially to all of our writers who feed the world via storytelling. May they receive everything they’ve asked for. #solidarity.’

‘Peraltiago together again, you love to see it,’ a fan wrote.

A commenter added: ‘As if I needed another reason to love you guys. Power to the union!’

On May 2, thousands of TV and film writers in the WGA staged a walkout after major studios failed to offer an adequate pay deal.

The strike is the largest since 2007, and has been supported by a string of famous faces.

Mayim Bialik is thought to have decided to sit out of the remaining episodes of Jeopardy!, with her co-star Ken Jennings reportedly stepping into her shoes.

Jennifer Coolidge shared her support for the WGA walkout in her acceptance speech at last weekend’s MTV Movie and TV Awards.

‘You know, almost all great comedy starts with great writers,’ the White Lotus icon declared in a pre-recorded message.

Pedro Pascal, who took home three trophies on the night, followed suit, adding: ‘We are all … standing in solidarity with the WGA that is fighting very hard for fair wages. We thank you, we love you.’
