Britney Spears has admitted she’s gained some closure after writing her memoir, as snippets continue to be shared online.

The Toxic hitmaker’s bombshell memoir has hit headlines in recent days before its official release on October 24.

In one part of The Woman In Me, Britney reveals she had an abortion while she was dating Justin Timberlake and also admitted she cheated on him.

Amongst other rumoured revelations to come out of the book, Britney claims that she discovered news about her then 16-year-old sister Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy not from her, but from a tabloid exclusive.

As headlines about the memoir continue to swirl ahead of its official release, Britney has released a statement claiming she had no plans to offend anyone.

She wrote: ‘My book’s purpose was not to offend anyone by any means!!!

‘That was me then… that is in the past!!!I don’t like the headlines I am reading… that’s exactly why I quit the business 4 years ago!!!

‘Most of the book is from 20 years ago… I have moved on and it’s a beautiful clean slate from here!!!

‘I am here to establish it that way for the rest of my entire life!!!’

The mum-of-two went on: ‘This is actually a book I didn’t know needed to be written… although some might be offended, it has given me closure on all things for a better future!!!

‘Hopefully I can enlighten people who feel particularly alone in most cases or hurt or misunderstood!!!

‘Again, my motive for this book was not to harp on my past experiences which is what the press is doing and it’s dumb and silly!!! I have moved on since then!!! #TheWomanInMe.’

Britney took to social media to share her thoughts (Picture: X)

This comes after Britney confessed it’s been ‘hard’ reading responses to her memoir in the news, as she struggles with the reaction.

She also emphasised how hard it was to write the book and assured fans that as long as she has her adorable dog Snow by her side, she’ll be OK.

The singer wrote: ‘Been so busy lately and there are so many hard things to read in the news about my book!

‘Writing the book was so hard!’

Britney added: ‘Then I woke up this morning and said it’s all relative nothing really matters at this point!

‘As long as Snow has her Noonie the world is a better place!’
