‘It’s touch and go and we are all praying he will pull through,’ they added.

Earlier this week, another British visitor was taken to a hospital in Athens after falling on a hiking expedition on the island of Lefkada.

The 50-year-old woman was part of a group visiting the Nidri waterfalls when a rockfall left her in a critical condition with severe head injuries.

She was initially taken to Lefkada’s hospital before being transferred to an ICU at  KAT Hospital in the capital.
