    The Sun’s front page reports the exit poll data suggests Labour is on course for a 170 majority and that Britain has seen “red”. The paper notes former PM Rishi Sunak’s decision to call a snap election has “backfired.”

    Starmer vows ‘change begins NOW’ after Labour sweeps Rishi out of No10 – & Farage finally an MP

    SIR Keir Starmer will be Britain’s next Prime Minister and has vowed to “rebuild the country” after Rishi Sunak conceded defeat.

    Labour has stormed into Downing Street after securing the required 326 seats, while the Tories have taken a battering across the UK.

    Elsewhere, Nigel Farage has become an MP for the first time, at the eighth attempt, by winning Clacton-on-Sea – one of four seats bagged by Reform UK so far.

    But the party has so far fallen short of the 13 predicted in the exit poll.

    Keir Starmer says ‘today we start the next chapter and begin to rebuild our country’ as Labour WIN landslide election

    SIR Keir Starmer has declared “we did it” and said today “we start the next chapter” as his party won a landslide election.

    In his victory speech, the Labour leader said the UK was again experiencing the “sunlight of hope”.

    Tory leader Rishi Sunak conceded defeat after a “sobering” night for his party which saw a record eight Cabinet minister lose their seats.

    It is understood Sir Keir received a telephone call shortly before 4am when he was in a car with his wife Vic on the way to Labour’s victory rally.

    In Tate Modern’s iconic turbine hall, Sir Keir said the country could now “get its future back”.

    He told jubilant activists “we did it”, adding: “Change begins now.”

    The newly-appointed PM faces the huge task of assigning his closest allies to Government positions today only hours after Rishi Sunak left Downing Street for the final time.

    The top table group is set to include Sir Keir’s firebrand deputy Angela Rayner, Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves and potential future PM Wes Streeting.
