Breaking Bad star Mike Batayeh has died aged 52.
The actor and comedian is known to fans after playing Dennis Markowski, the manager at Gustavo’s infamous laundromat in the US drama series starring Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul.
His family has said he died on June 1 in his sleep of a heart attack while home in Michigan.
Batayeh’s sister Diane told TMZ that his death was ‘very sudden’, as he didn’t have a history of heart issues.
His loved ones said in a statement: ‘He will be greatly missed by those who loved him and his great ability to bring laughter and joy to so many.’
Batayeh appeared in three episodes of Breaking Bad from 2011 until 2012.
The series tells follows Walter White (Cranston) a chemistry teacher, who discovers that he has cancer and decides to get into the meth-making business to repay his medical debts, later partnering with Jesse (Paul).
The laundromat, which Batayeh’s character owned, was used as a disguise for the meth lab where Walter and Jesse turned out copious amounts of product.
Fans of the show have paid tribute to Batayeh on social media.
‘Very sad. Was a big fan of this series’, one person tweeted.
A long-time friend also wrote: ‘Mike Batayeh was one of my 1st & best friends in comedy in LA & a great comedian. He played Dennis in #BreakingBad of course. No matter how successful, he always included friends. Class act. Ask God to please go easy on us Jews, Mike. It will be a great favor coming from you RIP’.
As well as his appearance in Breaking Bad, Batayeh was a successful comic.
He travelled the world and also did voiceover work.
