Netflix subscribers who enjoy Shaun of the Dead need to act fast as soon it will be removed from the platform.
The British horror comedy written by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost will depart from the streamer on February 1 giving you 18 days to do some rewatching.
The film begins with Shaun (Simon), a slacker living in London being dumped by his frustrated girlfriend Liz (Kate Ashfield) after he fails to plan an anniversary date.
After drowning his sorrows in the pub with his best friend Ed (Nick), things begin to get strange. His housemate Pete (Peter Serafinowicz) has been bitten by a mugger, and it doesn’t take long to work out (although longer than you’d hope) that the world is being overtaken by zombies.
There’s nothing like a zombie apocalypse to force a lazy man to get his life together. Shaun takes action by rescuing his mum (Penelope Wilton), killing his stepfather Phil (Bill Nighy), and going to his favourite pub, The Winchester with Liz also in tow. His hope is that eventually it will all blow over while they are safely in the boozer, but that’s not quite what happens.
The 2004 film was a huge hit winning legions of fans and even picking up two nominations at the British Academy Film Awards.
The movie directed by Edgar Wright also has an impressive 92% score on Rotten Tomatoes, with both critics and audience alike finding the 109 minute film highly entertaining.
‘A very funny horror comedy that both satirizes everything ridiculous about zombie movies and celebrates everything awesome about them. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost share irresistible chemistry. You really feel for Simon Pegg’s character and the rut he feels stuck in before the outbreak. Very British humor and plenty of witty social commentary with the zombie metaphors,’ wrote Kevin P. Evan B agreed adding: ‘Subjectively the best horror film of all time, the humor is absolutely perfect while still catching the tragedy of zombie films perfectly.’
Stephen H is likely going to take the Netflix news hard as he wrote: ‘One of my absolute favorite movies of all-time. Watched it a million times.’

Shaun of the Dead was part of the Cornetto Trilogy – also featuring Hot Fuzz (also leaving Netflix) and The World’s End – that saw Edgar, Nick, and Simon work together to create cinematic moments.
Their hard work has stood the test of time, but unfortunately it can no longer be enjoyed on Netflix.
However, it’s not all bad news as the film can be sought out on ITVX.
