A body has been found after an 11-year-old girl went missing in the River Thames, police have said.
The Metropolitan Police said they were alerted to a body in the River Thames in Maritime Quay around 9am on Sunday morning.
Officers said the body is yet to be formally identified, “however, the family of Kaliyah Coa have been informed of this development and are being supported by specialist officers”.
The girl went missing after she fell into the River Thames in east London at the end of March.
Officers said she had been playing during a school inset day and entered the water near Barge House Causeway in North Woolwich.
An “extensive search” was carried out after the incident.
The Met Police then released her name and photo at the start of the month.
Barge House Causeway is a concrete slope that goes directly into the River Thames and is used to transport boats.
Residents pointed out that it appeared to be covered in moss and was slippery on the day of the incident.
