Bild says The Syrian refugee Issa al H. is said to have murdered three people with a knife in Solingen. He should have left Germany last year. How did it come to this?
On Saturday evening, Issa al H. gave up. At around 10:45 p.m., he went to a police patrol car in downtown Solingen, turned himself in to the officers and identified himself. His clothes were said to have been soaked from the rain and covered in blood. Security sources say he was “pretty exhausted.”There is much to suggest that al H., 26, was in the center of Solingen after the attack and hid there. Then, in the evening, he probably realized that his escape was hopeless. The police arrested him. It was the end of a search that had lasted almost exactly 24 hours. A search that had shaken a city and kept the whole country on tenterhooks.According to investigators, Issa al H. attacked almost a dozen people with a knife at the city festival in Solingen on Friday evening.
