Benefits cheat mum faked cancer to fleece £2k from well-wishers for US ‘treatment’

The Daily Mirror says mother-of-three shaved her head and faked terminal cancer to fleece more than £2,000 from well-wishers for ‘treatment’ in America and used the cash on a holiday instead.

Convicted benefits cheat Gemma Goodwin, 38, from Dartford, Kent, claimed she enjoyed the attention she received while ‘ill’ with stage-four lung cancer, stage-two breast cancer and cervical cancer.

She even created a heart-wrenching JustGiving page where she wrote that she wanted to “fight for more time with her three beautiful kids,” despite her cancer being terminal.

She also made brazen attempt to grab £130,000 from a leading insurance company in bogus claims, shaved her head and told a friend she had lupus.
