Bebe Rexha was forced off stage after an unknown audience member hurled their phone across the crowd and straight into her face at a concert in New York.
The 33-year-old, who had to defend herself against trolls commenting on her weight recently, stopped her performance to be attended by medics in the bizarre encounter.
It struck the side of her face mid-song, causing Bebe, real name Bleta Rexha, to grab her face before collapsing onto the floor in pain.
Medics attended to the I’m Good (Blue) singer but she was unable to return to the stage and was escorted out of the venue, still grasping her face.
The extent of her injuries is unknown, with Pop Base reporting she needed three stitches, although this is unconfirmed.
Fans were horrified by the incident and outraged at the behaviour of the phone-throwing audience member whose motives were unclear.

Bebe, who is a Brooklyn native, was performing her Best F***in’ Night Of My Life Tour at The Rooftop in New York and had been excitedly promoting the gig all day.
The singer has not spoken out about the incident and has gone quiet on all social media platforms.
Fans however took to Twitter to express how disappointed and angry they were at the phone-thrower as well as share love for the singer.
‘Absolutely great show ruined by a fan throwing their phone at @BebeRexha hopefully she is ok after that,’ said one user.
‘This is Bebe Rexha being rushed out of the concert venue here in NYC after someone threw a f***ing phone and hit her face as she was leaving the stage,’ added another fan who shared a video of Bebe leaving the venue.
They continued: ‘We were all having a hell of a good time and so was Bebe, we were all having a blast, I mean who would even do that??? We hope you’re ok @BebeRexha 🧡.’

Another said: ‘This is so disrespectful… if you’re a fan and you did that, DON’T DO IT AGAIN, she could have gotten hurt, she just gave us a wonderful show and you guys do this??’
Videos have also circulated of a man being escorted out of the crowd by security after seeming to confess to throwing the phone, some added that the man was arrested.
The incident doesn’t appear to be isolated with other objects being thrown at artists like Kid Cudi, who stormed off stage last year due to disruptive fans.
It’s thought fans are throwing their phone in hopes of a picture taken by the stars but the behaviour has been condemned for fears that someone will be hurt – as Bebe has.
With recent stadium tours for Beyonce, Harry Styles and Taylor Swift, there has been a wider discussion surrounding fan etiquette at concerts and complaints of increasingly disruptive and disrespectful behaviour.

‘Stop normalising pushing and shoving in a concert. Just accept wherever you get to stand. Stop ruining other people’s concert experience for your selfish behaviour,’ said one concert-goer.
Another shared: ‘Bebe Rexha really deserves better… between this and the audience not showing any visible signs of care.
‘Like idc if they paid $6 to come see her, at the end of the day, they gotta show some respect…’
Bebe had four more concerts scheduled for this week alone on her tour and it is unclear if these will be cancelled due to injuries sustained from the phone.
This attack comes only a few weeks after the singer defended herself against trolls commenting on her weight online.
While on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Bebe shared that she had been diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) which had caused her to gain weight.
‘It’s one of the leading causes of why women gain weight and are obese,’ she shared of PCOS which causes a hormonal imbalance, resulting in pain and possible fertility issues.
‘I literally jumped, like, 30 pounds (2 stone) so quickly, maybe a little bit more. But we gotta just be positive and just show people love.’
