BBC to send enforcers to homes of over-75s who refuse to pay licence fee
The Daily Telegraph says the BBC is to send licence fee enforcers to the homes of over-75s, with those who refuse to pay facing the threat of prosecution.
A licence fee amnesty put in place due to Covid will come to an end on July 31, and the 260,000 over-75s yet to arrange payment will be targeted.
The BBC has instructed Capita, the firm that enforces licence fee payment, to make “customer care visits” to pensioners’ homes from the autumn.
