All four officers involved in the arrest that ended in George Floyd’s death have now been charged and held on a $1 million bail each.  Derek Chauvin, the former police officer who kept his knee on Floyd’s neck for almost nine minutes, had his charges expanded this week. His charges now include second-degree murder. Pakistan reported a record single-day spike in Coronavirus -related deaths with 82 new fatalities and 4,688 cases that it says resulted from increased testing in the past 24 hours. Pakistan’s outbreak has grown steadily since the country’s first case in February. Since then, 1,770 people have died and 85,264 have tested positive. More than half the UK population has struggled with sleep during the lockdown, a survey suggests. King’s College London researchers said sleep problems were more common in people facing financial hardship. Two in five reported having more vivid dreams than usual. Some people slept for longer than usual, but without feeling rested. Derek Chauvin, the former Minnesota police officer involved in the death of George Floyd, has had his charges increased to second-degree murder.  Minnesota Attorney general Keith Ellison is also charging the three other officers involved in the incident, according to a tweet from US Sen. Amy Klobuchar.  Ellison’s official announcement is expected to come Wednesday afternoon, more than a week after Floyd was killed while in police custody. Scientists are running a trial to see if ibuprofen can help hospital patients who suffer from  Coronavirus. They are assessing whether a special formulation of the drug could help reduce the serious side effect seen among coronavirus patients. The team from London’s Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospital and King’s College believe the drug, which is an anti-inflammatory as well as a painkiller, could treat breathing difficulties. They hope the low-cost treatment can keep patients off ventilators.
