Industry associations for sectors from oil to agriculture in the US and Europe found resisting wildlife-friendly laws, say researchers Industry groups representing some of the world’s largest companies are “opposed to almost all major biodiversity-relevant policies” and are lobbying to block them, according to a new report. Researchers found that 89% of engagement by leading industry associations in Europe and the US is designed to delay, dilute and block progress on tackling the biodiversity crisis, which scientists say is as serious as the climate emergency. Just 5% of support was positive and the remaining 6% was mixed or neutral, according…

Johnny Depp is set to embark on a tour of the UK next summer with his rock band Hollywood Vampires.
The actor and musician, who this year won his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard, will hit the road with his bandmates, Alice Cooper and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry, for their first tour in three years.
It comes after the trio were forced to cancel a tour in 2020 due to the pandemic.
Cooper sad: ‘Well, it’s already been three years since the Vampires have toured because of Covid.
‘Also, Johnny has his movies, Joe’s in Aerosmith and I’m in Alice Cooper, so we have to look at that whole thing and see when we can all get a month or two off where we can go out and tour. And, we are going to be doing that, next summer coming up, 2023.
‘I can’t wait to get back with the guys, I really love being in that band. My band is great and wonderful, but playing with the Vampires is an entirely different situation.

‘I don’t necessarily do any theatrics at all, I’m just the lead singer, in a band, and the band just happens to be one of the best bands around! It’ll be great to see Johnny and Joe and Buck and Chris and all the guys.
‘We’ll be rocking these places, especially the UK, I can’t wait to get to the UK! Lock your doors, put garlic all around, because the Vampires are coming!’
Perry added: ‘Next Summer it will be finally time for the Hollywood Vampires to rise again!
‘We can’t wait to play the songs from our latest album, Rise, for all our fans across the pond.
‘The excitement builds as we countdown the days! See you all then…remember, leave the garlic at home!’

The tour will start with Scarborough on July 5, before hitting Swansea, Manchester, London and Birmingham, and ending in Glasgow on July 12 – all of which follows on from a tour across Europe.
The band have two albums worth of original music, their 2015 self-titled record, and their 2019 release Rise
Depp last toured the UK with his pal Jeff Beck, immediately after he won the defamation trial against ex-wife Amber.
The Pirates of the Caribbean actor successfully sued his ex-wife for defamation over an op-ed she wrote for the Washington Post in 2018, in which she discussed her experiences with domestic abuse.
Despite never being named in the article, the 59-year-old’s lawyers argued that it implied he was violent towards her during their relationship, which he fiercely denied.
After a lengthy six-week trial, which was live-streamed on YouTube with millions around the globe tuning in, a jury found in Depp’s favor and awarded him $8million (£7m) of the $50million (£44m) he sought in damages.
The Aquaman actress was given $2million (£1.7m) of the $100million (£88m) countersuit after winning one of her counter claims.
She has since launched an appeal, switching up her legal team by hiring new lawyers in preparation.
Depp has followed suit with his own appeal, which was filed in July.
