Former Indian politician shot dead on live TV Atiq Ahmed, a former Indian politician convicted of kidnapping, was shot dead alongside his brother while under police escort and speaking to reporters in Prayagraj, India.  Three men posing as journalists quickly surrendered after the shooting.
