Sudan: Third evacuation flight of Britons lands in Cyprus A third evacuation flight has rescued around 230-240 UK nationals from war-torn Sudan, landing in Cyprus, with flights set to continue throughout the day. The British troops are endeavouring to extract citizens from the east African country during a 72-hour ceasefire.  The trapped nationals were told to make their way to an airstrip near the Sudanese capital Khartoum once the ceasefire began at midnight local time on Monday.
