British Museum worker sacked over missing treasures A member of staff at the British Museum in London has been sacked after treasures were reported: “missing, stolen, or damaged.” A police investigation has begun. More than 60 migrants feared dead at sea off Cape Verde coast More than 60 people are feared dead, whilst 38 people have been rescued after a boat was found off Cape Verde in West Africa. Almost all those on the board, which was at sea for over a month, are thought to be from Senegal. Those rescued, including children, were seen being helped ashore, some on stretchers, on the island of Sal. Canada wildfire: Race to evacuate city as blaze approaches Canada’s Yellowknife – one of the largest cities in Canada’s far north – is being evacuated amid warnings that a wildfire could reach it by the weekend.
