Wilko: New bid emerges for stricken retail chain Private equity firm M2 Capital has confirmed it has made a £90m bid for Wilko – in the latest attempt to save the retail chain. M2 Captial has bid £90m for the business and pledged to retain all employees’ jobs for two years. The Guardian newspaper first reported the M2 bid, and says it is one of several offers being considered by administrators. Liverpool flood deaths: 2 dead after driving car into floodwater Two people in Liverpool have died after becoming trapped in their car in a flooded road. Police were called to Queens Drive in the Mossley Hill area at 21:00 BST on Saturday night. Passers-by desperately attempted to save the two people – a man and a woman – who were stuck inside a black Mercedes in deep floodwater. They were taken to hospital but both were pronounced dead. Suella Braverman does not rule out GPS tagging of Channel migrants Home Secretary Suella Braverman said she was considering “all options” to “exert some control” over migrants arriving in small boats, including tagging some migrants with electronic devices. The Times newspaper has reported the Home Office is considering fitting asylum seekers with GPS tags. Protests erupt in Libya over contact with Israel Libya’s foreign minister has been suspended by the country’s prime minister after the FM met informally with her Israeli counterpart. Libya does not recognise Israel and is a strong backer of the Palestinian cause. The meeting between the two has sparked protests in the majority Arab state.
